On the 9th of October 1912 the Balkan League including Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Montenegro declared war on the Ottoman Empire. The aim of the Balkan League was to liberate their brothers under Turkish rule. The whole world was astonished by the victories of the Bulgarian Army which liberated the City-Fortress of Odrin. The First Balkan War, which lasted from October 1912 to May 1913, pitted the Balkan League (Serbia, Greece, Montenegro and Bulgaria) against the Ottoman Empire.
